Interests

I have a variety of interests, antiques, history , crafts, and genealogy.

My latest project has been a quilt block for the Appalachian Quilt Clothesline project, sponsored by the Gateway Resource Conservation and Development Council. They are placing quilt blocks on barns in nine counties in eastern Kentucky. My quilt is a fan pattern, it is located on the Scott Miller barn at 5835 KY Route 2 out of Olive Hill, KY.

I've also been making jewelry, both wire and beaded. This is a challenge but I thoroughly enjoy it.

I occasionally do commission work in all media's. I prefer doing portraits, both human and animals, but can and will do other paintings for you. My rates are very reasonable, I can work from a photograph or from real life, it's up to you!

The Carter Caves Art Expo, is a 5013C club. We put on one show per year, usually the first weekend of November. This show is held at Carter Caves State Resort Park in the Lodge. We have an average of 90 artists participating in this show, from the Tri-state area. Demonstrations are put on Friday and Saturday by professional artists, writers and musicians. The membership fee is $15.00 per year. There are no requirements of membership to participate in this show. We normally have $2500 +/- in prize money. Please email me for further information. Carter Caves Art Expo, Inc.

The club also is offering a book of Sketches of Carter County, 1792-1992, it is $10.00 + tax. (Plus $3.98 postage if mailed.) This is a limited edition book and you will see old and new places and people of Carter County, all sketches were done by local artists. Get your copy while they are still available!! Makes a great gift for out of town folk.

Genealogy names are: Curry, Crase, Cantrell, Davis, Haney, Howard, Meadows, Patrick, Sizemore, Young, Wright, Tebbs, Tackett. These are not published yet, but I will answer any question I can.

My pride and joy are my grandchildren, I have 4 and they keep me busy.

The award winning Old Man painting has been made into prints, they are limited to 200 and going quickly. They are $25 each + postage.
